The Moonlight Eagle Carbon Race is quite simply the lightest ski available on the French market or even in the world, with 95mm underfoot. At 2kg the pair in the “carbon race” version for 177cm (2.8kg in the carbon light version), it’s no heavier than lighter skis that are 1 cm narrower! We were impressed by the downhill performance given that it’s such a light ski. The Eagle holds its grip even at high speed, with stability that compares favorably with much heavier skis. It’s also easy to steer even in really tricky snow conditions thanks to its very progressive rocker. Its behavior is also playful with good agility. It’s hard to believe, but Moonlight has managed to make a ski that’s not only extremely light but is also a good performer. It’s a shame that it’s so expensive. We also reviewed the ‘carbon’ version that displays very similar behavior for a more standard weight of 2.8kg for 177cm, with a price tag of €1000.
