Stöckli Stormrider 88 review 2019

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

Kendo's main rival, the Stormrider 88 lost its "Best Ski" medal this year but remains a leader in the highly competitive All-Mountain Front category, where the skis are geared more towards skiing on groomed trails.

On the groomers, the Stormrider 88 performs incredibly well. It is a quiet, predictable, enjoyable, and undemanding ski that does what it is told and inspires the skier with confidence. It will perform well in every type of turn but is a bit more demanding in short carved turns.

Off-piste, the ski does its job. It will literally go anywhere and is even happy in chopped-up snow. In powder, it floats really well, and you feel like you are on a much wider ski.

The Stöckli Stormrider 88 has confirmed its position as one of the best skis in this category. We recommend it for all intermediate to expert skiers who want a high-performance and extremely versatile ski.

Manufacturer's remarks

This extremely versatile ski is one of our freeride models and is equipped with new sidewall technology. The new Polywall sidewalls are ten times more impact resistant than traditional sidewalls, while offering the same flex. Lightweight for climbing up the mountain, the Stormrider 88 provides smooth performance in powder thanks to its trusted construction and Powder-Rocker.
