Nordica Dobermann GSR RB FDT review 2019

PROSKILAB™ reviewers' comments

The name Dobermann GSR RB FDT is a bit of a mouthful! We can easily guess that GSR stands for "Giant Slalom Race," and we know that RB stands for "Racing Bridge," but we are still trying to find out what FDT means, although it seems to be linked to the plate which, in this case, is the company's own "Recoil Power Plate.”

The ski performs well and is responsive. Edge hold is excellent, and the Dobermann GSR RB FDT has incredible grip throughout the turn, even at very high speed.

After singing the praises of the ski, the testers did comment that the ski was not very accessible or easy to use. The ski is both physically and technically demanding; you need to actively drive the ski and be well-balanced.

The Dobermann GSR RB FDT is an elite-level ski geared towards a very athletic expert skier.

Manufacturer's remarks

Nordica is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the famous Dobermann!
It's a good opportunity for the brand to launch a new line of skis and boots in partnership with retired athletes like Kjetil André Aamodt, among others, as well as current athletes like Felix Neureuther and Dominick Paris!
The new Carbon Race Bridge 2.0 technology and the new core reduce the weight of the skis (260 grams per pair). They also add power in the tip and tail and improve torsional stability. The skis are more accessible, but still very precise and powerful.
The new "Recoil Power Plate" developed exclusively with Marker is inspired by one of the most successful plates on the World Cup, the Marker Piston Plate.
It facilitates energy transfer and increases the ski’s flexibility.
TECHNOLOGY: Sandwich construction, wood core, Titanal, carbon race bridge, new Marker interface (exclusive to Nordica)
