While the Head Kore 93 shone in the All-Mountain Back category, the more frontside-oriented Monster 88 lagged behind the competition who had more versatile skis.
The testers praised the Monster 88's excellent performance on groomers. They described it as "a good frontside ski" that is easy to control, grippy, and especially happy in short turns. The ski is accessible and “easy to handle.”
If you ski in fresh snow, it will perform adequately and has good flotation in powder, but it lags behind the Kendo, Pinnacle 85, Stormrider 88, etc.
Despite its 88mm-waist and rocker, the Monster 88 cannot hide its on-piste DNA. It is the perfect ski for intermediate to advanced skiers who love skiing groomed runs but would also like a ski that can handle all snow conditions and can dip off the side of the groomers occasionally.
