Now in its 4th season, the Dynastar Mythic 97 is still, for us, THE benchmark when it comes to this width at the waist. The Mythic is incredibly easy to use. Riders are reassured from their very first turns, as, no matter what the snow conditions, the ski remains easy to handle and easy to control. When the snow becomes crusty and challenging, you hardly even notice when you have these underfoot. Despite its light weight, the Mythic is also stable and efficient at high speed, with excellent float, smoothly riding out of the snow. For uphill climbs, at only 2.8kg the pair, you’d need to find an excuse other than the gear not to make it all the way to the top. In short, there’s not much to say against it apart from the high price and the black graphics which melt the snow and makes the ski heavier going uphill.
